The 2020 MOST Conference will be selecting:

  • MOST Mentors and

  • MOST Peer Coordinators

The MOST Conference is an exclusive leadership and recruitment conference for rising African American seniors from Mississippi. This one-of-a-kind experience takes place over three days and two nights on our Oxford Campus. The goal of the summer conference is to expose prospective African American students to leadership activities, academic offerings, campus resources, faculty, staff, and student leaders. Following the conference, mentors help to guide and support students through the admission process and throughout their freshman year.

MOST Mentors serve as the student leaders and conference guides for the MOST Conference. Mentors are placed in mentor pairs/clusters and are assigned a group of conference attendees and provide support and guidance during and after the summer conference. MOST Mentors gain experience in mentoring, problem solving, event management, and large and small group facilitation. Mentors network with university senior administration, faculty, and staff from across campus as well as undergo training on admissions and university processes to assist in the recruitment of prospective students. Interested applicants should value collaboration, teamwork, and inclusive excellence.

MOST Peer Coordinators serve as the student peer leaders to MOST Mentors. In addition, student coordinators support the MOST Advisory Board in the development and execution of MOST programming. Peer Coordinators are assigned a group of MOST Mentors to supervise and support in addition to serving in one of the following coordinating positions: Coordinator(s) of Mentor Development, Coordinator(s) of Recruitment & Operations, and Coordinator(s) of Programming & Activities.
